Members of the Russian State Duma have started openly criticizing Putin’s policies and are demanding the development of a clear plan to end the war against Ukraine to avoid social collapse.

Amidst a deepening economic crisis and regular Ukrainian strikes, high-ranking Russian officials are publicly warning Kremlin dictator Volodymyr Putin about an imminent social explosion within the aggressor country. Government representatives are openly highlighting ineffective leadership and the colossal losses of the most active part of the population at the front.

The Telegraph writes about this.

Criticism of the Authorities and the Threat of Collapse

Communist Party deputy Vyacheslav Markhayev accused the Kremlin of corruption and stated that the country is on the verge of a powerful social explosion. The politician believes that the blame for this inevitable chaos will fall entirely on the current Russian authorities.

“The time for illusions has passed,” the Russian deputy stated categorically during his public speech.

He warned that the West would certainly take advantage of these social disturbances to finally destroy the remnants of Russian statehood. Another deputy, Renat Suleymanov, who last month called for an immediate end to hostilities, joined this criticism.

Dissatisfaction with the authorities’ actions is rapidly growing due to large-scale internet outages, lack of success on the front lines, and Ukrainian drone strikes. All of this has led to the level of Russians’ trust in their president falling to a record low of 29%.

Economic Crisis and Nabiullina’s Ultimatum

The growth of the Russian economy has practically stalled, and military spending has reached a record 46 percent of the total state budget. According to economists’ estimates, almost every second ruble from the federal treasury is now spent solely on maintaining the army.

The situation is significantly worsened by precise Ukrainian drone attacks on the aggressor country’s oil refineries. Due to these regular strikes, crude oil processing in Russia has fallen to its lowest level in the last 16 years.

A sign of a serious crisis was the mysterious absence of the head of the central bank, Elvira Nabiullina, at a key economic forum in St. Petersburg. The official Kremlin stated she was ill, but independent sources report a serious conflict between the chief economist and the dictator.

According to insiders, Nabiullina presented Putin with a tough ultimatum regarding the inadmissibility of closing borders and introducing martial law. Sources claim that she has long had private reservations about the invasion and is now planning to leave her post permanently.

When Will the War in Ukraine End – Latest News

Despite the demands of the Russian elite to cease hostilities, serious peace negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow remain elusive at present. Western journalists have called the scenario of ending the conflict an extremely complex process that will require painful compromises.

Economist analysts compare the future peace treaty to the Treaty of Versailles, but note significant differences. They suggest that Russia is unlikely to pay reparations, and the organizers of the invasion may avoid international courts.

At the same time, Ukrainian experts believe that only the total collapse of the Russian economy can force the Kremlin to make genuine concessions. Valeriy Klochok, head of the Center for Public Analytics, emphasized that the only real lever of influence on Moscow remains economic pressure. In his opinion, regular Ukrainian drone strikes on oil infrastructure are already critically damaging the aggressor country’s budget.

The analyst is convinced that the deepening fuel crisis will inevitably force half of the Kremlin leadership to sit down at the negotiating table. This will allow the conflict to be frozen along the current front line and stop further advances of Russian troops.
