Amil Nasirov reminded the singer of her words about 30–35 dollars for tickets and sarcastically explained how “Kurgan & Agregat” earns money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Artist Amil Nasirov from the band “Kurgan & Agregat” sharply criticized Ukrainian artist Olya Polyakova for her statements about concert income, ticket prices, and the “poverty” of Ukrainians.

The leader of the band “Kurgan & Agregat” publicly dissected the singer’s claims about artists’ earnings during the war. The musician himself published a snippet of the singer’s interview, which he decided to comment on. He was particularly outraged by Polyakova’s words about the cost of concert tickets in Ukraine. The artist called the amount of 30–35 dollars insufficient for large collections. At the same time, she explained that concert revenues must cover team payments and personal living expenses. In response, Nasirov provided an example of his band’s financial model.

“When you see reports from us with tens of millions of hryvnias brought in from charity tours, know this: during those tours, we tape our mouths shut with duct tape between concerts so we don’t eat!” the artist noted.

Amil shared his reaction on Threads along with a fragment of Polyakova’s interview. It was in this excerpt that the singer discussed why Ukrainian artists cannot donate all their concert earnings to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Polyakova emphasized that during a tour, one must pay musicians, sound engineers, and other team members, as well as retain funds for personal needs.

“I’m on tour: I need to pay my girls, the sound engineer. And can I put even a little something to eat in my mouth? Or should I die, and then they’ll say I was good? WE don’t fill stadiums like Beyoncé, where people spend an average of $150 per ticket. No, my dears,” the singer previously stated.

The singer specifically drew attention to the purchasing power of the Ukrainian audience. According to her, tickets for Ukrainian artists’ concerts are significantly cheaper than for large-scale shows by global stars, and therefore, the amounts that can be collected during performances differ significantly.

“This is for Ukrainians, and Ukrainians don’t have money. They go to a concert for 30–35 dollars. Calculate how much can be collected. And the fact that these people, after collecting these pennies, after collecting from 3–4 concerts, still buy some car for 3–4 thousand dollars to send to the front. It’s a big thank you that they do this,” Olya said.

The characterization of 30–35 dollars as “pennies” was precisely one of the details Nasirov focused on. He countered Polyakova’s arguments with the experience of “Kurgan & Agregat,” noting that the band has much less media presence but earns from advertising, corporate events, and streaming. Thanks to this, the musicians can allocate funds specifically from concerts to the needs of the Ukrainian military.

“And just so you understand, our media presence is tens of times smaller, but we actually earn relatively well from advertising, corporate events, and streaming. That’s why we give everything from concerts to the army. And the fact that most artists manage to still whine, that’s really…” he wrote in the comments under his own post.

Following Nasirov’s post, a discussion unfolded online about how justified artists’ complaints about small concert incomes are and whether financial circumstances truly prevent them from making larger contributions to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recall that recently Polyakova lashed out over the scandal with the “good Russian” in Jurmala, called Ukraine a “concentration camp,” and refused to apologize to the people.
