Ukraine tested the Katran maritime drone with integrated MAC Dead Fly interceptors.
Interceptor drone for destroying Shahed, FPV drones, and other small aerial targets MAC HUB
The Ukrainian unmanned boat Katran X1.2 was demonstrated during trials on the Dnipro River along with 27 MAC Dead Fly interceptor drones, which are part of a new multi-layered system for countering aerial threats.
This was reported by the German publication Welt, which attended the trials.
During the demonstration, the Katran X1.2 maritime drone and the MAC Dead Fly aerial interceptors, developed in collaboration between the Ukrainian company MAC HUB and the “Black Sea Legion” unit, were tested.
Technical characteristics and system capabilities
According to WELT, the Katran X1.2 is a multi-purpose platform capable of performing various combat missions, from strike operations to transporting weaponry. The drone can carry, among other things, short-range R-73 missiles, as well as other unmanned systems.

Special attention during the trials was given to the integration of 27 MAC Dead Fly interceptor drones equipped with artificial intelligence elements. As noted, they are capable of independently detecting aerial targets and reaching speeds of up to 380 km/h, which is sufficient for destroying “Shahed” type drones.
Welt also notes that Russian drones often use riverbeds as routes for attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
Engineers are working to increase the interceptors’ speed capabilities to 450 km/h at the request of the military.
As the publication adds, the combination of maritime platforms and aerial interceptors forms a new level of modern warfare, expanding the capabilities of both air defense and naval defense. The coordination of the systems is carried out through a mobile command post using the MAC Mission Control platform, which unites the combat elements into a single network.
According to Welt, all MAC Construct solutions are developed in cooperation with the military of the “Black Sea Legion,” which is part of the active operations unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

It should be noted that Ukraine already uses a number of maritime drones, including Magura, Mamai, Sea Baby, and Katran.
