In Kyiv, they plan to review the tariff for centralized water supply and sewage disposal. It is proposed to set it at the level of 63 hryvnias.

This was announced on the air of the TV channel “Kyiv24” by the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko.

According to Klitschko, Kyivvodokanal plans to bring the cost of services closer to an economically justified level. This concerns the tariff for centralized water supply and sewage disposal in the amount of 63 hryvnias.

The mayor noted that the current tariff was approved back in 2024, however, its increase had been postponed for a long time.

Why the need for an increase arose

According to the mayor, the enterprise is facing a severe shortage of personnel.

Currently, Kyivvodokanal lacks:

  • fitters;

  • electricians;

  • pump station operators;

  • emergency crew drivers;

  • laboratory assistants;

  • dispatchers.

Klitschko emphasized that without an economically justified tariff, it will become increasingly difficult for the enterprise to ensure uninterrupted operation and provide services to the residents of the capital.

The mayor reported that, according to him, 16 water utilities in Ukraine are already operating with economically justified tariffs. He also noted that decisions on tariffs are made by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Communal Services (NEURC).

Currently, the discussion is about plans to review the tariff. The final decision on its introduction must be made in accordance with the current procedure and the regulator’s powers.

Communal payments in Ukraine – latest news

We remind you that the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection urges Ukrainians to timely conduct mandatory periodic verification of gas and electricity meters in accordance with the Law “On Metrology and Metrological Activities.”

Ignoring the deadlines threatens changes in billing algorithms and a significant increase in the amounts on the bills. All work related to dismantling, transportation, maintenance, repair, and installation is carried out by service providers.

Also, the NEURC decided to exempt owners of private houses and apartments whose housing has been destroyed due to the war and has become unfit for safe gas supply from paying for gas delivery.

In addition, owners of destroyed homes were exempted from the obligation to submit meter readings monthly, as well as from the costs of maintenance of internal house gas networks in apartment buildings. All benefits will be valid for the entire period during which it is impossible to safely use gas in the premises.
