It’s important to note upfront: there is no scientific evidence that salt on a broom can influence prosperity, the home’s energy, or future events. It is purely a folk belief, which can be considered a part of domestic culture.
Why Salt and Brooms Were Given Such Significance
In traditional beliefs, salt held a special symbolic meaning. It was associated with purity, abundance, home protection, and maintaining well-being. The broom, in turn, was an implement used to sweep not just dirt but all negativity out of the house.
