Кількість купальників для відпустки: формула, що зробить ваш відпочинок ідеальним

When packing a suitcase for a beach vacation, we often hesitate between minimalism and the desire to take our entire wardrobe. However, the choice of how many swimsuits to pack depends not only on future photoshoots but also on vacation conditions, hygiene, and health implications.

There’s a myth that two swimsuits are quite enough for a full beach vacation: while one dries on the balcony, you conquer the waves in the other. However, such an oversimplified mathematical approach often leads to a spoiled mood and unexpected health problems during your trip.

TSN.ua has gathered useful tips to help you figure out how much beachwear you really need to pack.

Hygiene and Women’s Health – Factor Number One

The main rule from gynecologists and urologists: after swimming, remove the wet swimsuit as soon as possible. A moist and warm environment, combined with synthetic fabric, is an ideal incubator for bacteria and fungi. Sitting on the beach in damp bottoms is a direct path to cystitis, candidiasis (thrush), and skin irritations.

Therefore, if you plan to spend half a day at the beach and intend to go into the water several times, you will already need to have at least one dry change of outfit with you. And considering the high humidity at seaside resorts, your evening swimsuit might simply not dry overnight.

Vacation Conditions: Pool, Sea, or Water Park

Water dictates its own rules. Chlorinated pool water mercilessly destroys elastane, making the fabric thin and faded. Seawater makes the fabric stiff. And if you plan to visit thermal springs, it’s best to take a swimsuit you don’t mind parting with.

Furthermore, the type of activity requires different styles. A minimalist bikini is perfect for relaxing on a sun lounger. But if you plan to ride water slides, play beach volleyball, surf, or snorkel, you critically need a secure one-piece swimsuit or a sports top that won’t slip off during a dive or a wave impact.

Even Tan and Protection from Burns

One of the most common vacation problems is white straps from a tan on a tanned body (the so-called “zebra” tan). To achieve an even skin tone, you need to alternate swimsuit styles. One day you tan in classic triangle tops, another day in a bandeau top (strapless), and a third in a model with an asymmetrical cut.

You should also consider the risk of sunburn. If you get burned in the first few days (most often shoulders and décolletage are affected), wearing an open bra with thin straps that dig into the inflamed skin will be unbearably painful. For such cases, it’s great to have a full-coverage swimsuit or a special rash guard (long-sleeved swim shirt).

Figure Features and Well-being

Our bodies change during vacation. Firstly, the “all-inclusive” system, generous dinners, and dietary changes can cause slight abdominal bloating. Secondly, don’t forget about your menstrual cycle. During these days, you desire maximum comfort and security. It is precisely for such situations that your suitcase must have a swimsuit with high-waisted bottoms (retro style) or a stylish one-piece with a shaping effect, which will boost your confidence.

Aesthetics and Photos

Of course, beach fashion matters! Different swimsuits set different moods. A vibrant tropical print is suitable for morning activities, while an elegant black or white one-piece swimsuit with cutouts will be an ideal option for an evening beach party, paired with a sheer sarong or palazzo pants.

So, what is the ideal formula?

  • 2 swimsuits is a strict survival mode, which is absolutely insufficient even for a week-long vacation.

  • 3 swimsuits is the golden mean. While one is drying on the balcony, the second is on you, and the third is in your beach bag as a dry change or waiting for its turn for an active excursion.

  • 4-5 swimsuits is the optimal choice for a comfortable 7-10 day vacation, covering all needs: from hygiene and an even tan to perfect social media shots. Especially considering that this wardrobe item takes up almost no space in a suitcase.
