Ukrainian servicemen have released footage from various areas of Kostiantynivka, confirming that the city remains under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
This information was shared in a post by the 19th Army Corps on July 4.
“The Russian regime is once again resorting to blatant falsehoods, mistaking wishful thinking for reality. Claims of alleged capture of Kostiantynivka are another disinformation fake, intended to create an illusion of success amidst enormous personnel losses and the failure to achieve set objectives. The reality is different,” the soldiers stated.
According to them, the enemy continues attempts to infiltrate and advance in small groups, but such actions are promptly detected, and the enemy is systematically destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.
“Kostiantynivka is holding. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to fulfill their assigned tasks,” they added.

The Russian military command claims that Russian troops have allegedly “occupied” the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. However, the “Vostok” (East) Group of Forces has labeled the Russian reports as lies and an attempt by the Russian Federation to “fabricate” success and justify significant losses of personnel.
This settlement is under the control of Ukrainian defenders. Clashes are constantly occurring in certain areas of the city. The Armed Forces of Ukraine detect attempts by Russians to penetrate into Kostiantynivka and destroy the invaders. The defense forces are striking the logistical routes of the Russian troops and their assembly points.
The spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Andriy Kovalyov, confirmed to Interfax-Ukraine news agency that Putin’s statements about Kostiantynivka are false.
“The settlement of Kostiantynivka is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Military units and detachments of the 19th Army Corps of the Vostok Group of Forces continue to conduct defensive operations within their designated boundaries in and around the settlement,” Kovalyov stated.
Late in the evening of July 3, Putin met with Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and other high-ranking Russian commanders and announced the “capture” of Kostiantynivka, the “liberation” of the Luhansk region, and “significant advances” by the occupiers in the Donetsk region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reacted to Putin’s statement about the alleged occupation of Kostiantynivka. He called it “another Russian lie to launch at least some news.”
“If Kostiantynivka is now under Russian control, then perhaps Putin will have no problem meeting with me there and finding diplomatic solutions to finally end the war. But still, he will not cross the front line: the truth is very different from Putin’s words,” Zelenskyy wrote.
