In 2026, NATO member countries will provide Ukraine with 70 billion euros in military assistance.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The funds will be directed towards the supply of armaments, training of Ukrainian military personnel, technical support, and other needs of the Defense Forces.
The General Staff noted that tens of thousands of Ukrainian servicemen have already undergone training as part of programs implemented by the Alliance member states. The coordination of these activities is ensured by the NATO Security Assistance and Training Initiative for Ukraine (NSATU).
Ukrainian defenders are undergoing training at Alliance training grounds in various areas. In particular, they are honing their combat skills, mastering tactical medicine, air defense, and operating modern weaponry.
“Now Ukraine has a unified coordination mechanism for support. We have the necessary capabilities, we have the expertise. Training, technical maintenance, equipment provision. And, of course, assistance to Ukrainian forces by providing them with support so they can focus on direct combat operations,” emphasized the Deputy Commander of NSATU, Major General Mike Keller.
In turn, Captain Petter of the Norwegian Armed Forces stressed that the main task of the allies is the quality training of Ukrainian military personnel who are directly involved in combat operations.
“We are doing absolutely everything we can to improve the training level of the soldiers,” said Captain Petter.
It was previously reported that against the backdrop of doubts about US reliability, Ukraine could become indispensable for European defense due to its combat experience, strong army, and advanced military technologies.
We previously informed that the Donald Trump administration notified Congress that the use of $400 million in military aid to Ukraine would continue until 2029.
