The Russian shelling of Kyiv, which damaged the Uspensky Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Dovzhenko Film Studios, deeply affected singer Svitlana Tarabarova.

The artist shared her emotions after the tragic night when iconic places in the capital came under attack. According to Tarabarova, some of the damaged sites are linked to special moments in her life. The singer admitted she couldn’t hold back tears recalling past events. She was particularly struck by the news about the consequences of the attack on the Uspensky Cathedral. News of the destruction of other important Kyiv locations also brought pain.

“I wanted to talk a little about ‘my Kyiv.’ About the magnificent Uspensky Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, where I was baptized as an adult in 2009. About the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio, where we filmed numerous television projects and our most ambitious music video – ‘Manifest.’ About the incredible A+ school in Comfort Town, where we recorded kind songs with children and staged vibrant performances… It’s painful,” the performer wrote.

Tarabarova did not hide that she is distressed by every new strike on Ukrainian cities. She noted that these emotions have been accumulating for years, and new tragedies only intensify the pain for her native country and its people.

“And also constantly – my Kherson, my Dnipro, my Kharkiv… Honestly, writing this – and tears are in my eyes… And while the children are not around, I don’t even try to hold them back. Perhaps it will work as therapy. And then the children will come, I will pick myself up from the floor piece by piece and go on living, loving, and believing that we and our children will be able to withstand, preserve, and restore everything that is so dear to us,” the singer confessed.

The artist’s post received many responses from followers who supported her and shared their own experiences of the enemy’s latest attack. Many agreed that the destruction of Ukraine’s cultural and spiritual symbols is perceived as particularly painful.

Recall that recently, “Women’s Quarter” star Valeriya Tovstoles reported an enemy strike in her yard and emotionally denounced Russians.
