The General Staff confirmed the successful strike on the petrochemical giant “Tobolskneftekhim” in Russia.

On August 10, Ukraine’s defense forces conducted a successful operation targeting one of Russia’s largest petrochemical complexes. This facility supplies raw materials to the Russian military-industrial complex.
This information was released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As stated by the Armed Forces, Ukrainian military personnel targeted the “Tobolskneftekhim” petrochemical plant in Russia’s Tyumen region to diminish the aggressor’s military and economic capabilities.
“Specifically, the damage to the enterprise’s central gas fractionation unit (CGFU) has been confirmed. The CGFU has a capacity of approximately 6.6 million tons of raw materials per year. The unit is a crucial component of the production complex at one of the largest petrochemical enterprises in the Russian Federation and Europe,” the General Staff noted.
According to the military, the plant produces materials essential for the Russian army, including butadiene, isobutylene, maleic anhydride, and the special additive MTBE. These substances are utilized in the creation of rocket and aviation fuel, materials for drones, and high-quality gasoline.
The extent of the inflicted damage is currently being assessed. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicated that Ukraine’s defense forces will continue to systematically implement measures aimed at halting the Russian Federation’s armed aggression.
Recall that the Tyumen region of Russia reported a drone attack on an industrial facility belonging to the SIBUR holding. A fire broke out in Tobolsk following the fall of the drones.
