Ukrainian singer Dasha Astafieva sharply criticized the Ukrainian show business and publicly rebuked colleagues who, during the war, flaunt a luxurious social life but remain silent on crucial public matters.
The artist admitted that the behavior of some celebrities increasingly infuriates her. These are individuals who readily fill their social media with content from presentations, parties, and fashion events, yet rarely mention fundraising for the military or protest actions. According to Astafieva, supporting important initiatives has long been a daily habit for her. This is precisely why she cannot comprehend why, over the years of full-scale war, not everyone has formed a clear civic stance. The performer shared her thoughts in an interview on the “Honcharova podcast” channel. At the same time, the artist did not hide her emotions and spoke quite sharply.
“I have such a well-honed routine. I post a call for donations, and in the next story, I ask people to return and contribute. I simply wake up every day and do this work for other people. Because, you know, we’ll soon drown in music video premieres, new shows, without supporting fundraisers and disseminating vital information,” emphasized the celebrity.

Dasha was particularly struck by the fact that she hardly sees representatives of Ukrainian show business among the participants of protests. Instead, she says, photos of her colleagues with glasses of champagne at social events constantly appear in social media feeds. In her conviction, such indifference to important processes in the country is unacceptable.
“For five years, I haven’t been able to understand how people still haven’t internalized this. We have to do our job. Normal people will rally. These people, as they were ‘degans’ before, so they remain!” the artist stated emotionally.

The singer also admitted that due to fundamentally different views on responsibility during the war, she has stopped communicating with most of her social circle. According to her, civic stance has become a kind of marker for her of who deserves to remain close.
