Zelenskyy emphasized that the Ukrainian people’s struggle against the Russian Federation’s aggression is the main guarantor of the independence and sovereignty of all post-Soviet countries.

«Putin’s Puzzle»: Zelenskyy on Ukraine’s Role for Neighbors’ Independence
Putin’s primary objective is to restore the Soviet empire, with the subjugation of Ukraine being a crucial element of this plan. Ukraine’s resilience and its presence in the region safeguard the sovereignty of all other post-Soviet states.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors.
“Putin’s puzzle is to return to what has already collapsed. The stronger, the more independent the countries of the former Soviet Union are, the more difficult it will be for him. Ukraine is key to this puzzle. He wants to break us. If he succeeded, it would be easier with other countries of the Soviet era and space – with full respect for all countries. Everyone knows this and highly values Ukraine’s contribution, at such a high cost, with lives, to the independence of other states,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, Kyiv is actively restoring and building strong diplomatic relations with regional partners.
Specifically, Ukraine consistently supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and this year resumed active contacts with Armenia after a multi-year pause.
“Ukraine’s presence today in the space of former Soviet countries means the independence of these countries. I am invited, for example, to Moldova’s Independence Day. It is very important for us to maintain such relations, and I am proud that we are building them this way,” the head of state concluded.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that despite Russia’s use of ballistic missiles in the war against Ukraine, some manufacturers of this weaponry have not yet been sanctioned.
