The Belarusian dictator claims he has ordered the military and border guards to open checkpoints on the border with Ukraine so that Ukrainian peasants can gather mushrooms and berries.

The self-proclaimed Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, cynically announced the opening of borders with Ukraine and urged Ukrainians to come to Belarus during the full-scale war.
He said this during a public speech at an ethnographic festival on Saturday, August 15, according to the Telegram channel “Pool of the First,” which is close to the Belarusian dictator.
Lukashenko called Ukrainians “poor souls” and stated that they can cross the border, particularly to gather wild berries, mushrooms, and other forest fruits.
“Let everyone come to us, we are open for this,” he declared.
According to Lukashenko, he allegedly ordered the military and border guards to open checkpoints so that Ukrainians could “as usual” come to Belarus and earn money by collecting wild edibles.
“Poor Ukrainians, who, remember, used to come to us across the border, collected wild fruits, berries, mushrooms, what else grows in our swamps… These are poor souls there, simple people live on the other side of the border,” the dictator of the country that helps the Kremlin kill peaceful Ukrainians unexpectedly “felt touched.”
At the same time, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus went even further and brazenly denied his country’s involvement in Russian aggression against Ukraine. Although it was from Belarusian territory that Russian troops launched an offensive on Kyiv in February 2022, using Belarusian territory as a staging ground for the invasion of Ukraine.
“We are not aggressors. We do not want to fight with Russians or Ukrainians,” Lukashenko hypocritically assured.
He also said that Belarus allegedly “will do everything to ensure peace,” calling the country a “common home” for representatives of different nations.
Recall, earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet managed to persuade Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko to directly enter the war against Ukraine, but Belarus is already providing assistance to the Russian army, which must be stopped.
