The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has put the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi, on the wanted list.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has placed the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi, on its wanted list. This is not the first time Russian agencies have pursued the Ukrainian military official.

Drapatyi’s card, marked “Wanted,” appeared in the database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs following his appointment as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The entry indicates that the Ukrainian general is being sought “under an article of the Criminal Code,” though the specific article and the nature of the accusations are not detailed.
Previously, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation had already brought charges against Drapatyi in absentia. The Russian side claimed that in 2017 and 2019, he, along with Viktor Nikolyuk, exercised general command over the Joint Forces Operation.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stated that under their command, Ukrainian forces allegedly carried out over 70 shelling incidents in settlements within the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Russian agency also asserted that these actions allegedly resulted in the deaths or injuries of 154 people.
We remind you that Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Oleksandr Syrskyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Mykhailo Drapatyi became the new Commander-in-Chief.
The President stated that together with Mykhailo Drapatyi, Yevhenii Khmara, and Pavlo Palisa, they “determined how the configuration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be updated.”
The day before, Syrskyi made his first statement after his resignation.
