A TikTok user shared a shocking find in an American thrift store, where she discovered a substantial amount of money in the pocket of a used jacket.

This was reported by the blogger, known on TikTok as Not Nic, according to Mirror.

While browsing in the thrift store, the blogger tried on an oversized green and brown jacket in her favorite style and found a wad of cash in the pockets instead of the usual small items. After this, she started to panic right there in the parking lot. Examining the find more closely, the woman initially assumed it was dollars but later had doubts due to the appearance of the banknotes.

“So I rummaged through the pockets and thought, hmm, does this look good? Guess what I pulled out. It’s money… I thought, I don’t even care anymore. I’ll buy this jacket just to see the money. Because maybe it’s something like a dollar,” the girl noted.

The blogger initially thought there was about £100 (135 dollars) in the pocket. However, she later had doubts and suggested the amount could be as high as £1000 (1350 dollars). Because of this, she began to panic and confusedly wondered if she would have legal trouble because of such a find.

After hiding the money in a safe place, the woman confusedly turned to her followers for advice and asked them to suggest what she should do while she went shopping for groceries at the Aldi supermarket.

Despite her concerns about the unexpected discovery, the woman was pleased with her main purchase: “But this jacket is really cute.” Her followers advised her in the comments to keep the money, noting that items are often donated to charity along with forgotten belongings, and the former owner cannot be found.

In addition to the money, the blogger boasted about another find from the same thrift store – a branded black and burgundy Kate Spade handbag, which she purchased for just £10, even though such models cost around £300 on second-hand websites.

Recall that the notion that used items are bought solely for the sake of economy by poor people is completely outdated. Modern research in the field of consumer psychology proves that today’s thrift stores, vintage boutiques, and consignment shops are actively stormed by high-income shoppers who can easily afford new clothing.
