The star and her label clarified rumors about collaboration with Russians.

Ukrainian singer Kazhanna responded to the scandalous appearance of her songs on the Russian streaming service “Yandex Music.”

A heated debate erupted online. Users, in particular, noticed the star’s tracks on the Russian platform. However, the artist explained on Instagram that she has nothing to do with their placement. According to the performer, her distributor does not cooperate with the Russian service, and all the songs that appeared there are pirated copies.

“Obviously, my distributor does not work with ‘Yandex Music,’ and what you see is a pirated copy, which, unfortunately, I cannot influence in any way and I don’t earn anything from it. Guess why,” the singer emphasized and provided evidence.

Kazhanna also sharply responded to those who questioned her civic stance. The artist assured that she has consistently supported Ukrainian culture long before the full-scale invasion, and her personal life is also inextricably linked with the defense of Ukraine.

“To those who legitimize Russians in the Ukrainian information space: browse my biography, get under my skin, look into my drain in the bathroom – you will not see contradictions in my position, as I have been leading TikTok in Ukrainian since 2020. My beloved serves in ‘Azov,’ and the goal of my public activity is the development of Ukrainian music. And no one will stop me!” the performer declared.

Meanwhile, meticulous users contacted the Russian platform with a request about Kazhanna. In response, “Yandex Music,” in its characteristic Russian manner, lied that it supposedly “concludes agreements with rights holders.”

The situation was summarized by the pomitni label, with which the singer collaborates. They explained that Russian DIY platforms actually allow anyone to upload others’ compositions without the consent of the rights holders. However, the label is trying to achieve justice and punish the Russians for such violations as quickly as possible.

“Anyone can upload a track with cover art to Russian DIY platforms and deliver it to local platforms, as they will not conflict with anything due to the absence of a rights holder in Russia. We are working on the case within the legal framework and are looking for solutions that will resolve it without legitimizing Russian platforms,” the statement reads.

It should be noted that after the full-scale invasion began, Ukrainian performers stopped officially posting their music on the Russian service “Yandex Music.” However, unfortunately, individual tracks periodically appear there due to pirated uploads by third parties, without the knowledge of the artists or their labels.
