The proportion of Russians who consider the war against Ukraine successful has decreased to 50%. This is the lowest figure since the start of the full-scale invasion.

This is reported by the results of a survey by the Levada Center.

According to the sociologists’ data, in July, only 8% of respondents rated the course of military operations as very successful. Another 42% called it rather successful. Over the past year, the total share of citizens who believe the invasion is successful has decreased by 19%.

Analysts previously recorded an anti-record in the autumn of 2022, when mobilization was announced in the Russian Federation. At that time, 53% of respondents considered the military actions successful, including 9% who assessed the situation as very successful, and 44% as rather successful.

Currently, 28% of Russians hold the opinion that the war is proceeding unsuccessfully. Specifically, 8% assess its course as extremely unsuccessful, and 20% as rather unsuccessful. This negative indicator was only higher in November 2022, when it reached 32%.

Recall that the majority of Ukrainians (72%) did not support the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Defense Minister by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the Rating group, published on July 22.
